TL;DR

In the rapidly evolving realm of web3, the issue “Scaling” has persistently emerged as one of the foremost challenges so far. Developers are shifting different scaling solutions, and wandering plans from bridging to rollups, light clients , and IBC methods. However, those new methods still present roadblocks. Problems with shattered liquidity, overloaded transaction costs, endless deep learning, and trust hypothesis in centralized service still exist, and are still in an unstable status. These limitations reduce access to the broader web3 ecosystem of creativity, users, liquidity, and increase constraints of a particular technology. Inspired by Zelda, a famous open world game, we discuss the possibility of omnichain info/asset communication solution with trustless hypothesis and better developing experience, and introduce our solution, Cycle Network.

A Tale Inspired by #Zeldatotk : Web3 Freedom

We are getting inspired by the game “Zelda: Tears of Kingdom”. As a player, all you need to do is activate “Skyview Town Open” to expand the map. Each time you open a tower, you will be given new skills and tools.

What’s even better is that you don’t have to go around learning how to fight monsters and collecting potentially useless weapons like in most games. Instead, you can use functions such as “Ultrahand” and “Fuse”, to grab, rotate, lift, align, attach, and upgrade objects, using your imagination to create the tools and weapons you need from the objects around you.

The freedom of creativity is a pivotal aspect of Zelda’s appeal, and is also something the ethos of crypto world.

In the world of Web3, developers find themselves in an experience different from the world of games like Zelda. Developers constantly struggle to balance their desire to create innovative products and improve user experiences, limited by the fragmented Web3 landscape. The reality requires builders to cater to users on various chains in a flustered way.

The questions then raise:

“Why can’t Web3 developers focus on innovating their products and enhancing user experiences based on their desired business experience?”

“Rather than reinvent the wheel, can anyone helps developers to build their own transportation, tool, and weapon? ”

“Can we build the world of Web3 as Zelda, with developers envisioned as players in the Zelda?”

Shattered Web3 Scenario

When we talk with developers, users, and ecosystem, it seems like the “scaling” is always the inescapable topic. Developers seek ways to unleash their creativity on-chain, expanding the realms of what’s possible. Users continue their exploration across projects, seeking seamless transaction and straight-up wild experience. Ecosystems toss and turn through all kinds of events, aka panels, meetups, parties and hackathons, supporting crazy ideas and overlooked value in the traditional world.

However, reality paints exactly the opposite: Developers aim to create more interesting stuff, but, due to infrastructure limitations, find themselves obliged to reinvent the wheel across various ecosystems to onboard users from all networks; Users are blocked out from on-chain activities, suffered by high-cost, complex steps, and limited activities. Therefore, they have no choice, but to stick to CEX experience, despite knowing its insecurity; ecosystems struggle that the full potential of imaginative ideas remains unrealized on-chain, and overshadowed by an overwhelming convergence of values. Problems with shattered liquidity, overloaded transaction costs, endless deep learning, and trust hypothesis in centralized service still exist, and are in an unstable status.

Take, DEX, for instance, we can witness a fragmented situation for both developers, users, and ecosystems. Insights from various interviews reveal that users aren’t necessarily concerned about technical distinctions between DEXs; Instead, their need is to buy/sell the desired token across all chains at a cheaper cost of transaction, in a more secure environment, and at one click .

The current landscape of DEXs falls short in meeting these critical user needs. However, according to DeFiLlama, among 1107 DEX projects on chain, around 5% support multichain. However, due to isolated liquidity, high fees (due to the complicated steps), and limited products supported, most users still choose CEXes rather than DEXes when it comes into the actual trade.

Why can’t the dilemma be addressed? The complexity of layers causes attention and resource diversion.

The landscape of multi chains and L2 solutions has become an inevitable trend in the web3 landscape now and later. While capitals and press are keen on the status announcing L1s and L2s with various concepts and functionalities, this is actually a nightmare for developers and users:

  • Users must digest a vast amount of content within limited time and energy in order to select applications based on their needs, and understand blockchain basics while managing private keys securely to protect their assets.
  • Developers are forced to deploy applications across multiple ecosystems 24/7, leading to scattered liquidity, user management, and product development efforts.
  • The high cost of deploying applications on different chains makes it difficult for developers to distribute functionality based on the characteristics of each chain.

The diversion of attentions and resources makes it difficult for projects to focus on innovating their ideas, resulting in wasted funds and the user stereotype of “inefficiency” and “difficulty”, regarding on-chain activities.

Cycle Network

Cycle’s mission is to empower the boundless creativity of Web3. By providing a chains network with seamless liquidity and function all chain, and self custody function, aka settlement layer, shared liquidity model, and AA model, Cycle aims to liberate developers from repetitive tasks, from different layer structures to information/asset synchronization and deployment. Cycle encourages developers to wander uncharted realms, exploring the vast potential of Web3 without the burden of reinventing the wheel at every turn.

Imagine a Web3 world that resembles the enchanting realms of Zelda. In this world, developers are like players who possess features like Ultrahand, Fuse, and Skyview Tower Open. Developers can easily create decentralized applications (dApps) through a simplified process. By using simple actions, developers can seamlessly assemble functionalities across the expanse of Web3. Cycle frees users from mastering each blockchain’s intricacies, making it easier to weave their creativity.

What you can expect from Cycle

Cross-Ecosystem Compatibility

Cycle is most famous for its cross-ecosystem compatibility. By ultrahanding and fusing EVM chains, non-EVM chains (Bitcoin, Solana, IBC related chains, and Move Chains), L2s, and all other modular chains, Cycle supports dAPPs, either existing or new, to integrate and autobuild cross-chain, cross-layer functions in a simple plug-in contract, without any code modification or new chain deployments.

All-Chain Distributed Ledger

Benefit from Cycle’s all-chain distributed ledger, developers can say goodbye to endless learning and tedious deployment across different chains, especially those complex consensus mechanisms, or set of rules tailored to different functionalities within each layer/blockchain.

Lightning-fast and Low-fees

With Cycle toolkits, SDKs, and advanced smart contract design, developers can hug a lighting-fast experience with a low cost. Free your battery, glue your focus on creativity, and leave the hard work to us!

Top-Tier Security

Security is top priority. Cycle sets up a security model in a paragliding experience. Users can also expect Cycle’s slash mechanism and self-custody model, to upgrade the durability and shield defense from on-chain attack and malicious actions.

Use Cases : Let’s Imagine some “Cycle” Future

What can dAPPs, developers, and users can expect with the help of Cycle? Aside from those basic imagination such as omnichain DEX/Lending/Stablecoin, let’s come up with some “Cycle Ideas”:

  • Omnichain Dark Pool: The omnichain dark pool can help large-scale traders to trade big deals with more diversed asset type, to achieve low slippage, better price, and a save on transactional costs, without causing volatility on-chain
  • More DeFi Legos: More derivatives such as Perp Dex, LSDs, Options, Interest Swap will be activated based on plug-and-play compatibility
  • Omni-chain Trading Bot: Onchain trading bot provides rational returns under one strategy, omnichain trading bot times it.
  • AI Agent: With all-chain data real-time syncronized, AI agents can have all-chain machine learning, and will boost functions like parameter adjustment (i.e liquidity ratio, game parameter, incentive parameter…) , treasury management, and DAO engagement, etc.
  • Omnichain NFT: with more chains interacting, more exciting features will be experimented on NFT. i.e. Reveal hidden features/characteristics/airdrop upon specific conditions/actions.
