Introducing Cycle Network
TL;DR Cycle Network creates a global state to release an Intent and Application Centric future.
Today, we are excited to launch Cycle Network, the world’s first Trustless Omni Distributed Ledger technology. It enables the construction of a global state view across all blockchains, thereby achieving trustless interoperability.
Through Cycle Network, developers and users can experience seamless communication and the transfer of value across all chains, layers, and dApps. This allows them to focus on functionality innovation and product enhancement, benefiting from the state aggregation from the bottom up. We believe that in the future, users should care more about whether the dApps can meet their functional need, instead of considering which chain their funds are located. Cycle Network sets the mission to abstract the fragmentation and interoperability issue, to make it more accessible to the next generation of Application Centric and Intent Centric innovation.
A Fragmented World State
In the contemporary modular framework, state information is fragmented and distributed across multiple application chains, Layer 1s, and rollups. Despite variations in block generation speed, these systems are united in solving the rising problem of state bloating and the resulting growth in data structural complexity and volume. As a result, applications functioning within these spheres face significant challenges in conducting verifiable and efficient data searches, computations, and queries, encompassing both present and historical state data.
Recently, Layer 3 is getting more focus and increasing popularity. Meanwhile, the Ethereum Layer 2 network ecosystem is facing cross-domain issues, leading to increasing fragmentation. Developers have to rely on Bridges to achieve cross-domain access between Rollups in different domains.
Based on the current modular trend, we need to consider next-stage questions: What advancements are required to fulfill the needs of users and developers? How can we restructure the module on the user logic?
Cycle Network: Addressing State Fragmentation with a Trustless Abstract Approach
Cycle Network employs its Omni Distributed Ledger Technology (ODLT), and integrates it with Omni State Channel Indexer (OSCI) and Trustless Cross Chain Protocol (TCCP), to realize global state proof on trustless state changes (execution) across blockchain networks. The above image represents the overall architecture of Cycle Network. The architecture primarily consists of three components:
- Security Layer functions as a blockchain layer ensuring transaction state safety and liveness. It uses a consensus mechanism to prevent conflicting node states and guarantees timely finalization of transactions. This layer, potentially based on highly decentralized blockchains like Bitcoin or Ethereum, offers foundational security through Rollup technology.
- Extend Layers are defined as source and destination layers (Layer 1s, Layer 2s, and App Chains) where transaction and data states are located. Extend layers include endpoints which are set up on each layer for Extended Data Availability (EDA). An Omni Decentralized Indexer is also set up to ensure decentralized indexing and data state availability across chains and layers. The endpoints validate message completeness for each Extend Layer and synchronize across all layers through Cycle Layer.
- Cycle Layer acts as a Rollup for both Security and Extend Layers. It features key components like OSCI and Trustless Cross Chain Protocol (TCCP), along with a decentralized sequencer, an access layer, an execution layer, and a ZK-proof model. This layer processes cross-chain transactions and internal transactions, generating omni-state root proof for the Omni Distributed Ledger (ODL). It ensures decentralized indexing and trustless communication and enhances participant decentralization through a decentralized sequencer governed by DAO.
Cycle Network’s architecture facilitates a more secure, efficient, and decentralized transaction process across blockchain layers. Cycle Network decouples both the developer’s code logic and the user logic out of chain logic, in response to diversified challenges associated with multi-chain environments. With Cycle Network, developers don’t need to deal with dApps fragmentation, and users don‘t need to care about which infrastructure a dAPP is built on. All they need to focus on will be experience and products, only.
What Can Cycle Achieve?
For Developers:
- Enhanced Interoperability: Cycle Network’s Global State boosts a seamless interaction among different blockchain networks and creates an easy-use environment for developers to brainstorm more functionally innovative dApps.
- Reduced Complexity: By addressing multi-chain fragmentation using one-click deployment across all chains, Cycle Network abstracts the development process and frees developers out from infrastructure concentration to focus more on function innovation.
- Improved Efficiency: Cycle Network provides toolkits for dApps to easily execute cross-chain(s) communication and transaction and smoothen out the development process through low-latency and security upgrades, to a faster and more reliable experience.
For Users:
- Seamless Experience: Users can enjoy better transactions and interactions experience without chain notice or burdens on liquidity and security fragmentation.
- Greater Accessibility: Cycle Network’s integration across multiple chains broadens access to a variety of decentralized applications and services, offering users more choices and flexibility.
- Enhanced Security and Trust: Benefiting from trustless interoperability, users can enjoy enhanced security and reliability in their transactions and data interactions across various blockchain networks.

StarFish Testnet
With the release of whitepaper, we are proud to announce Cycle Network Testnet 1.0 for developer ‘Starfish’ is officially launched. Inspired by real-world starfish, Cycle Network is equipped with “tendrils” that link to a variety of blockchains including both EVMs and non-EVMs such as Bitcoin, Solana, Cosmos, and Move.
We plan to roll out Testnet 2.0, Testnet 3.0, and ultimately, the Mainnet as the progress goes. According to our mission, ‘Starfish’ will step-by-step upgrade to a robust ‘Connector,’ connecting limitless innovation in the web3 together, as the unifying network for all blockchains and the adoption of “open web”.
